Here at IntelliGen, we are dedicated to empowering our children to become capable, confident, and independent adults ready to succeed in life beyond the classroom. We recognize the significant challenges facing today's youth and families—many of which we, as parents and caring citizens, are deeply invested in solving. Our desire is to bridge the growing gaps in skills, knowledge, and preparedness by equipping young people with the resources and tools they need to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
In a time when independence and life skills are more essential than ever, we see too many young people graduating high school unprepared for the realities of adulthood. Whether it’s basic financial literacy, the ability to manage time and commitments, or the know-how to handle relationships and responsibilities, essential life skills are increasingly less developed. This leaves parents worried for their children’s futures, and many are struggling to communicate with them amidst busy schedules, short attention spans, and an overwhelming reliance on technology.
Today’s youth are tethered to devices and exposed to information overload, yet the substance of what they’re absorbing is often guided by algorithms that satisfy fleeting interests and instant gratification, not lifelong growth. We rely on schools to teach; however, schools can only do so much. It’s scary to discover our kids’ gaps in essential life skills that can’t be easily caught up as our teens prepare to leave home. Statistics reveal young adults themselves feel unprepared, with more than half expressing concerns about finances, and recent studies showing that companies often find new graduates lacking in essential skills such as resilience, accountability, communication, and conflict management.
Our purpose is to change this trajectory by providing resources and information that encourage exploration, engagement, and a sense of responsibility. We strive to create a supportive environment where young people can develop practical skills, make informed choices, and feel empowered to step confidently into the future. With a focus on building independence, we help bridge generational gaps, foster meaningful connections, and make informed, intentional decisions for a successful life beyond high school.
